About Penny

Penny is a 1-year-old female tabby cat available for adoption in Pune, Maharashtra. She is an extremely friendly, playful and easy-to-handle indoor cat looking for a loving and permanent home. She can also potentially travel to Mumbai and Bangalore for the right adopter. Penny is litter trained, dewormed, vaccinated and sterilized. She is comfortable staying alone for a few hours, making her suitable for adopters with regular office schedules. She can also be a wonderful companion for people who work from home. Penny loves playing with catnip mice, feather toys and balls. She enjoys cat trees, cat perches and shelves because she loves climbing and spending time in elevated spaces. She also enjoys watching cat TV. Since she will initially be the only pet in her new home, her adopter should be prepared to give her dedicated playtime every day. Penny has always been an indoor cat and should continue to live indoors. She does not enjoy being confined to one room or a small space and needs access to the whole house to feel comfortable. For now, Penny is looking for a home where she can be the only pet. With patience, she may eventually be able to live with another cat. Her rescuers have found that she can do well with younger kittens, although her compatibility with other cats can vary. Penny prefers a clean and organised home. Her litter box, food bowls and water bowls should be cleaned regularly. She also needs an adopter who is willing to provide good-quality food and maintain a consistent routine. Penny may take 2–3 days to decompress after moving to a new home and around a week to properly settle in, although every cat adjusts at their own pace. She can be a good choice for both first-time cat adopters and experienced cat owners. Penny was rescued around Diwali after being separated from her mother because of firecrackers. She was subsequently adopted but experienced neglect and ran away from the house twice. Her rescuers became involved again when they realised she was not being actively searched for. Penny has since stayed with multiple foster homes, giving her rescuers considerable insight into her behaviour as a single cat. Serious adopters only. Adoption formalities are mandatory. Penny needs a stable home and an adopter who can commit to caring for her throughout her lifetime. The rescuers are not looking for students or bachelors who are uncertain about their future living arrangements. Location: Pune, Maharashtra Can potentially travel to: Mumbai and Bangalore
